Saturday March 27, 2010 Eight WickedFast athletes competed in Clermont, Florida in the Great Clermont Triathlon.  Sydney B, Laurel R, Emily D,  Michael H, Harrison B, and Ben D all competed in the adult Super Sprint race.  A 200 meter swim – 8 mile bike - 2 mile run.  Nathan L and Tommy M competed in the Youth triathlon; a 100 meter swim – 5 mile bike – 1 mile run.  WickedFast athletes dominated  both races even against some veteran pros racing in the Super Sprint. 

Michael was 6^th  overall, Ben 9^th and Harrison 15^th for the men.  Laurel crushed the women’s race ranking 1^st in the bike and finishing 2^nd overall with Emily right behind her ranking 2^nd in the run and 6^th place overall.  Sydney scorched the swim exiting the water first of all the women and finishing 12^th overall.  The WickedFast athletes competed head to head with the veterans riding their $6,000 dollar bikes, aero helmets and disc wheels!  Nathan was the overall winner in the 14 and under youth race by 3 minutes and Tommy was the winner of the 11 and under division.

The entire team was like a well oiled machine.  All the parents and I had to do was sit back and let them race or as Laurel said, “Accelerate!” And that is what they did after a very hard week of training in Lake Louisa State Park and in Clermont at the NTC.  Andy Schmitz the USAT Athlete Development Manager was there and congratulated the kids. He gave the Wicked Fast athletes’ a big, “Congratulations!”

The kids acted and conducted themselves like professional triathletes, looking sharp and acting like the special young ladies and gentlemen that they are!!!
